Ultimate GOALS
Greetings to all:
My ultimate goal in providing this web site is to inspire others to move either individually or collectively in making a positive difference for our animal friends, be they pets or non-pets. Our "Medieval Mentality" toward other life forms to justify our exploitation of them must be challenged and changed.
It is my wish that those who read this document will move in such a manner as to assist organizations already established for the betterment of our animal friends. If such organizations do not exist, hopefully, those who read this document will see to it that organizations will be established to aid our pets or non-pets in their struggle for survival.
My ultimate goal is in the hope that some day we will see all schools, organizations and communities county wide in Fayette, Raleigh, Summers, and Wyoming Counties (FRSW) in WV start projects which will be beneficial to our animal friends in their struggle for survival.
Out there, somewhere, there is someone reading this who realizes that we are not doing all we can for our animal friends. Out there, somewhere, he or she will take up the cause to correct these ills and make a difference. This site will be so devised to help each of those people in reaching that goal. In so doing, they will provide the audible voice for our animal friends whose "Silent Voice" we hear but refuse to hear. In so doing, they will provide us with the vision to see what we have refused to see concerning others life forms.
VISIONARY GOALS
My Visionary Goals are as follow:
There will be a day that mandatory spaying/ neutering will be implemented with aggressive adoption policies and actions rather than euthanazation - as the primary solutions to pet overpopulation.
There will be a day that our citizens will not accept how our treatment of animals are conducted as the "status quo" but will raise up their voices and demand changes where changes are needed.
There will be a day that legislation will be passed that when the care givers of an animal shelter move in a devious and corrupt manner that denies the animals under their care a second chance in life, it will be construed as a criminal offense.
There will be a day that animal shelters will not be so lavishly built or operated in such a manner that it necessitates the immediate euthanasia of the animals under their care to save overhead cost.
There will be a day that the animal shelters will not see the "five day waiting period" before they can kill an animal as an incentive to do so. But, the animal shelter will move in behalf of the animals under their care in a caring and compassionate way.
There will be a day that animal shelters will become "animal friendliness" and "people friendliness" and their hours will be so that on certain days, they will be opened during evening hours.
There will be a day that the director of an animal shelter will be an individual who is moved by the power of love for the animals under their care and not moved by the love of power. Let not politics give an uncaring person a position just for political reasons without merit. When a director of an animal shelter is chosen only for political reasons without merits, the citizens are helpless in the operation of a compassionate shelter, and the citizens and the animals both become the victims of such unscrupulous practices.
There will be a day that the board meetings of an animal shelter will have an "open door policy" which will be made known to the citizens an allow the citizens to have an input. Only by this method will the citizens feel the animal shelter belongs to them and the accountability of the actions or inactions of an animal shelter will be resolved.
There will be a day that animal shelters will not operate basically as a slaughtering houses or if they do, a non partisan group who is known to move in the interest of animals or the ruling members within the organization will take over the shelter and find competent and caring people to run the shelter.
There will be a day when web sites for the animal shelters will be initiated by them or in their behalf to allow them to rise to their fullest potential to get their message across to the public and benefit the animals in their area.
There will be a day that "No Kill Animal Shelters" will emerge in our area.
There will be a day that monies designated for specific purposes will be obtained for organizations working for the betterment of our animal.
There will be a day that businesses who reap profits from consumers who buy products for their pets, medical treatment for their pets, etc. will contribute in some manner or fashion for the betterment of our animal friends.
There will be a day that food for pets will be developed that will serve also as a birth control to curb the pet population.
There will be a day that all antifreeze will be either non lethal or that the odor will be so foul that humans and non humans will find it so repulsive they will not be tempted to partake of it.
There will be a day that the care givers in Fayette, Raleigh, Summers, and Wyoming Counties will band together to try to get needed policies for the betterment of our animals adopted. Together, these counties trying to get a policy adopted together could move mountains, separately, the task becomes more difficult.
And the list could go on and on . . .
